New Edition of PLI’s Guide for Accountants, Auditors and Attorneys

acc-liaPLI recently published the second edition of Accountants’ Liability.

Accountants’ Liability has been the reliable and readable resource that accountants have turned to for guidance on how they can meet their professional responsibilities, comply with relevant rules, and avoid the increased number of legal land mines.

This newly updated edition provides attorneys with the legal, strategic, and tactical knowledge they need to prove (or successfully defend against) claims against accountants such as:

  • Breach of contract
  • Breach of fiduciary duty
  • Negligence
  • Securities claim fraud
  • Common law fraud
  • Civil RICO actions, and
  • Practice and ethical violations.

Accountants’ Liability explores the damage done if accountants fail to follow professional conduct, auditing, accounting or tax standards. The expert authors discuss the sources of current claims, the various legal theories upon which they may be instituted, and some of the practical problems faced by the parties in litigating such claims.

Update from our AALL 2016 Orbitz Gift Certificate Raffle Winner

At the AALL Annual Meeting & Conference 2016 in Chicago, PLI celebrated the global reach of Discover PLUS–which is now being accessed from more than 65 countries–by raffling off a $1,000 Orbitz gift card at our booth. Dennis Sears from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University was the lucky winner and he recently checked-in to let us know how he enjoyed the gift.

I have always been interested in history, American history even more so since law school.  Since I am from Utah, most of the time I have spent on the East Coast has been in conjunction with AALL for the past several years.

We decided to use the gift cards we received from you during the fall break and travel to Virginia, specifically Williamsburg and the surrounding area.  It was absolutely wonderful to wander around and explore Williamsburg.  In addition, the weather during our fall break was ideal.

For me, it is so interesting to visit the historical sites on the East Coast, where our country had its beginnings…Again, that you so much for the gift cards.  I will remember this trip for decades to come.
