This year’s conference will take place from July 16-19 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. We look forward to connecting with law librarians from across the country and communicating the latest Discover PLUS news.

This year we are excited to highlight our Discover PLUS app! Yes, you heard right—PLI created a mobile app that not only mirrors the desktop version of our award-winning online research database, but also simplifies the existing navigation and allows you to download content to access while you’re offline.  With the app, you can access your account from your iPhone® and iPad® and have the most up-to-date, relevant information and techniques practiced by the industry’s leading law firms, corporations and government agencies at your fingertips. It’s like fitting an entire library in your pocket!

PLI Librarian Advisory Breakfast at AALL 2015

PLI Librarian Breakfast

Practising Law Institute (PLI) will be holding a Librarian Advisory Breakfast at the AALL 2015 Annual Meeting & Conference in Philadelphia.

At PLI, we recognize that past practices greatly affect future dealings and decisions, and we’re working hard to upload our vast archived content to PLI Discover PLUS, our eBook library containing our authoritative Treatises, Answer Books, Course Handbooks, Program Transcripts, and Legal Forms. Since PLI has been publishing authoritative secondary sources on legal matters since 1933, we are in a unique position to be able to provide our subscribers with a treasure trove of expert opinions. By the end of 2014, we had released over ten years of Course Handbook content going back to 2004, and we are continuing to provide subscribers with more archived titles every week.

During a breakfast discussion on Discover PLUS historical content, we will offer a participant the chance to explore their very own history: attendees will be placed in a drawing for a chance to WIN a FREE World Explorer Ancestry.com package
($224 value).

We will also demonstrate the exciting future enhancements that are currently planned for Discover PLUS.

SUNDAY, JULY 19
7:30 – 8:30 AM
Philadelphia Marriott

Please RSVP to libraryrelations@pli.edu, and we’ll include location details in
your confirmation.

We hope to see you in Philadelphia!

Training: The Most Effective Communication Activity for Law Librarians

Earlier this year, the American Association of Law Libraries published a report on The Economic Value of Law Libraries .  The report emphasized the need for law librarians to communicate their libraries’ worth to their organizations and outlined best practices and strategies for doing so.

Electronic databases were ranked as the number one valued library service and training topped the list as the most effective communication activity across all respondents including users, library directors and stakeholders.

PLI Library Relations offers free in person and WebEx training sessions to our library customers.   Our training sessions showcase PLI Discover PLUS,  PLI’s electronic database of treatises, answer books, course handbooks, downloadable forms and program transcripts of PLI’s nationally acclaimed seminars.

To schedule a training, email libraryrelations@pli.edu or call 877-900-5291.

For additional training check out our Discover PLUS Training Center right here on this blog!
